The story of how our hero product, Bulan Nourishing Facial Oil, came to be is deeply personal and rooted in our passion for natural skincare. It all started during our travels across Asia, where we immersed ourselves in natural skincare courses. It was in these courses that we were introduced to the beautiful plant known as blue tansy. This plant captivated us with its incredible range of benefits—it's anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, antihistamine, helps with acne, balances redness, and blemishes, all while boasting a stunning blue color and a relaxing, minty scent.
In our quest for the perfect formulation, we experimented with 17 different types of blue tansy until we found the one that worked best. As we started using it, we noticed something remarkable—our skin began to clear up, and it had never looked better. We had been so accustomed to wearing foundation every day, but now, we found ourselves going makeup-free more often, feeling confident in our skin.
This experience led us to create what we first called Bulan Balancing Facial Oil. However, since our brand's core principle is nourishment, we renamed it during our rebrand to better align with our values, and it’s now known as Bulan Nourishing Facial Oil. The name "Bulan," meaning "moon" in Indonesian, felt perfect for this oil, with its dark blue hue reminiscent of the night sky. Designed as a PM oil, it helps your skin heal and rejuvenate overnight.
The turning point came when a celebrity esthetician discovered our oil, and soon after, more estheticians began to take notice. The facial oil quickly took off, becoming our hero product. No matter what skin condition you needed help with—dry skin, combination skin, acne-prone skin, lackluster skin, dullness, eczema, rosacea—whether you were on vacation in a hot, humid climate, or a cold one, this little oil could do it all.
From the very beginning, we committed to using only the highest quality ingredients. Bulan is enriched with organic Camellia Seed oil, a beauty secret cherished in Asia and believed to be used by Geishas for its silky, velvety texture.
